Purdue at Michigan State – 1/16/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Purdue Boilermakers will head up to East Lansing to face the Michigan State Spartans in Big Ten play from the Breslin Center. Michigan State leads the all-time series, 70-56, but Purdue has won four of the last five games.

Purdue improved to 16-1 after defeating Nebraska at home.  The Boilermakers outscored the Huskers in both halves, and picked up an 18-point victory. Purdue is scoring 75.9 points per game, while allowing 61.4 ppg, and shooting 45.4% from the field.

Purdue’s run atop the AP polls was short-lived after the home loss to Rutgers, but they’ve responded with three straight conference wins. Purdue has leaned on the physical presence of Zach Edey in full so far. The 7’2 center went for a monstrous 30-point double-double in win over Penn State, and leads the Big Ten in scoring (21.3) and rebounding (13.2). Freshman guard Fletcher Loyer went for a season-high 23 points in the win over Nebraska, and he’s second on the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg.
