The Purdue Boilermakers and Florida State Seminoles face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at the Donald L Tucker Center. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Purdue that was able to secure the 93-65 victory.
Purdue comes into this game with a 6-0 record and they have gone 4-2 against the spread. Purdue has been really tested so start the season and so far they have passed them all. Two games ago against Gonzaga, Purdue secured the 84-66, and in the last game against Duke they won 75-56. Purdue is averaging 76.8 points while their defense is giving up 59.5 points per game. The offense has been good, but more impressive has been the defense that is ranked 32nd. Zach Edey is having a strong season and is averaging 21.7 points while shooting 61.5 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is Florida State who sits with a 1-7 record and they have gone 1-7 against the spread. In the last game against Nebraska the offense only scored 58 points and that led to the blowout defeat. The Seminoles are averaging 66.1 points while their defense is giving up 75.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 303 while the defense is ranked 315. They need to find a way to get the offense going here or it’s going to be a very long game. Guard Caleb Mills has been the top player for Florida State averaging 12.6 points while shooting 43.5 percent from the field.
