Providence at Creighton – 1/14/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Providence Friars and Creighton Bluejays face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the CenturyLink Center at Omaha. When these two teams faced off in March it was Creighton that secured the 85-58 victory. 

Providence comes into this game with a 14-3 record overall and they have gone 10-7 against the spread. In the last game against St. John’s the offense put up 83 points, and that was enough to secure the win by three points. Noah Locke had a strong game finishing with 20 points and three rebounds. The Friars are averaging 79.9 points while their defense is giving up 68.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 33rd in the country and they need the offense to be good here. Bryce Hopkins is averaging 16 points while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Creighton who sits with a 9-8 record and they have gone 8-9 against the spread. In the last game against Xavier, Creighton scored 87 points, but the defense gave up 90 points. Baylor Scheierman had a strong game finishing with 25 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Creighton is averaging 76.7 points while their defense is giving up 68.9 points per game. Creighton wants to get up and down, but the last game proved they need better defense. Ryan Kalkbrenner is averaging 14.8 points while shooting 73.9 percent from the field.
