The Providence Friars will head down to Storrs to face the Connecticut Huskies in Big East play from the Gampel Pavilion on FS1. UConn leads the all-time series, 39-30, but Providence has won three of the last four meetings since the Huskies returned to the Big East. 

Providence improved to 20-7 following a home win over Villanova. The Friars led the Wildcats throughout the contest, and walked away with a 13-point win. Providence scores 78.0 points per game, while allowing 68.6 ppg, and shooting 46.2% from the field.

Providence had a good stint at home last week with wins over Creighton and Nova, and they’ll enter their toughest test remaining with some momentum. The Friars are 12-4 in Big East play, with a 5-5 road record. Sophomore forward Bryce Hopkins double-doubled against the Wildcats last time out and he leads the Friars in scoring (16.9) and rebounding (9.3). Fifth-year forward Ed Croswell scored a team-high 21 points in the Nova victory, and he’s averaging 13.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg. Former SC guard Devin Carter scored a season-high 25 points versus the Jays, and he’s second on the team at 13.4 ppg.
