PromoGuy's 2023 EV Sportsbook Power Rankings
PromoGuy's 2023 EV Sportsbook Power Rankings

Sports betting is so much more than just placing a bet on a team or player. If you're smart, you can make the most of the best US sportsbooks (and yes, we mean sportsbookS, plural; you should definitely have multiple) by finessing the 'books and taking advantage of the various odds boosts they have to offer, not to mention additional perks like parlay insurance, special bonus bets promotions, as well as all of the best sportsbook sign-up offers that enable you to build some bankroll quick, while using Dimers' free sports picks.

But when it comes to getting the absolute most for your betting dollar, which sportsbooks are the best?

The Promoguy is here to help with his pre-football season EV sportsbook power rankings.

2023 EV Sportsbook Power Rankings

It is important to remember throughout these rankings for how much EV was given out by these sportsbooks post-NBA and pre-football. As you will see in my comments, I expect these to move around a decent amount over the next few months.

  1. BetMGM
Current sign up promotion: Get up to $1500 paid back in Bonus Bets if you don't win.

Long dinged in my rankings for lackluster promos, widespread promo banning and limiting, BetMGM makes a big move up to No. 1 in the pre-football rankings. Multiple 15% and 10% MLB parlay boosts per week, NRFI insurance on Fridays, UFC parlay boosts, EPL parlay boosts, OGP insurance, and more. While many are still limited, most limits are around $11 which is better than DraftKings/FanDuel maxes on their promos.

  2. Caesars Sportsbook

50% parlay boosts, 50% WNBA boosts, 33% parlay boosts, 25% home run boosts, and more with nearly all $50 maxes. They aren't frequent enough and sometimes their underlying home run odds make the home run boosts unplayable. However, Caesars has really stepped up their game relative to last year and isn't far from the top spot, thanks to more relaxed limits than BetMGM.
  3. FanDuel Sportsbook
Current sign up promotion: Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets and $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket

Dinger Tuesday carries FanDuel Sportsbook here, although they have also had once/twice a week 30% WNBA/Soccer Profit Boost Tokens. Over $50 in profits per week on Dinger Tuesday in my Disord (if you are limited – higher if unlimited) alone keeps FanDuel a step ahead of DraftKings, but the promos are just not frequent enough to contend with BetMGM and Caesars. The Super Bowl promo they ran back in February would certainly elevate FanDuel if I factored it into the summertime but I will give the others a chance to roll out their opening weekend promos before rewarding FanDuel for putting theirs up first.

  4. DraftKings Sportsbook
Current sign up promotion: Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets

DratfKings Sportsbook have daily 50% boosts, frequent 20% boosts, step-up parlays, targeted no sweats, the Up 2 Early promo, and more, which would normally put them higher than No. 4 on this list. However, $5 maxes take a chunk out of the EV provided from this book. Lower unit bettors would likely have DraftKings higher as the EV% and frequency of promos is higher than the others and lower unit bettors would not be putting $50 on some of the Caesars/BetMGM promos anyway. It looks like DK has already transitioned to higher maxes but I am keeping this a pre-football season ranking that we'll review in a couple of weeks. Watch this space.

  5. Bet365
Current sign up promotion: Bet $1, Get $200 in Bonus Bets

30% Same Game Parlay boosts are decent, and their sign up offer is among the best out there for new users.

  6. Barstool Sportsbook

So close parlays, parlay bet/gets, and a few others as well as limits have Barstool just outside of the top 5.

  1. Bet365

The Lionel Messi anytime goalscorer boosts that they've been doing recently have been great, and they regularly provide boosted odds for UFC cards which ensures Bet365 are a must-use if you're an MMA fan.
