Premier League Reportedly Looking For Clubs' Support in Gambling Sponsor Ban

Last season, 10 teams in the Premier League had gambling companies as sponsors on their shirt, but that is unlikely to be the case in coming seasons, thanks to a new proposal from the EPL.

The league is looking for clubs’ support in getting rid of the gambling sponsorships in response to the government’s new movement to undergo a thorough review of the gaming industry.

The laws are primarily designed to limit addiction and other gambling-related issues, according to Front Office Sports.

This means there are far more changes to be made in addition to the shirt sponsorships, but the clothing sponsorships are being targeted as a big first step.

Under the proposal, advertisements on the outside of the pitch would remain, according to Sky Sports.
