Portland Trail Blazers (28-30) vs. Sacramento Kings (32-25)
The 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend is over and the regular season continues Thursday, February, 23, with the Portland Trail Blazers taking on the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference showdown at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
Portland meets Sacramento for the second time in 2022-23, and the Trail Blazers beat the Kings 115-108 as 3-point road dogs way back in Week 1. The Kings open as 5.5-point home favorites this time around, while the totals sit at 239.5 points.
The Portland Trail Blazers (28-30; 30-28 ATS) are tied with the Utah Jazz for the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference. They are just half a game behind the No. 10 Oklahoma City Thunder and two games behind the No. 6 Dallas Mavericks, so the Blazers continue their battle for the playoffs, hoping to improve their game in the second half of the season.
Portland has only won two of its previous six games overall, outlasting the Golden State Warriors 125-122 and Los Angeles Lakers 127-115 in the process. The Trail Blazers are coming off a heavy 126-101 home loss to the Washington Wizards.

Damian Lillard just won the 3-point contest in the All-Star weekend. He’ll continue to drive the Blazers’ offense after tallying 31.4 points and 7.3 assists per game through 46 appearances this season. Portland boasts the fifth-best offensive rating in the NBA, notching 117.1 points per 100 possessions, but the Blazers allow 117.2 points in return (27th in the league) on 48.4% shooting from the field (26th) and desperately need to play better defense in the coming days.
The Trail Blazers also have injury worries ahead of Thursday’s game in Sacramento. Jusuf Nurkic (calf) is expected to return in March, Justise Winslow (ankle) hasn’t played since late Dece mber, while Anfernee Simmons (ankle) and Jerami Grant (concussion) are questionable to meet the Kings.
