Portland will try to build on its win over Orlando when it travels to Detroit on Monday for the third game of a six-game road trip. The Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 122-119 win at Orlando on Sunday. Detroit lost for the seventh straight time when it fell to Cleveland on Saturday.
Portland was sitting at the .500 mark overall this season on Feb. 3, but it has been in a cold stretch since then. The Trail Blazers lost eight of their following 11 games, riding a three-game losing streak from the end of February to last Friday. They were able to snap their losing streak with a 122-119 win at Orlando on Sunday, as Damian Lillard had another huge game. He poured in 41 points for the second time in his last three outings after scoring 71 points against Houston on Feb. 26. Lillard has led Portland in scoring in each of its last five games and is one of the top scorers in the NBA at 32.3 points per game.

He did not have his best performance from the perimeter, knocking down just 4 of 16 attempts from 3-point range. Power forward Jerami Grant scored 20 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds, going 5 of 14 from the floor. The Trail Blazers were excellent in the paint, outrebounding Orlando 56-41. They have been a decent offensive team this season, ranked No. 14 with 114.9 points per game. This is an ideal matchup for them, as Detroit is No. 29 in the NBA in points allowed per contest (119.1). Second-leading scorer Anfernee Simons missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury and is questionable for this game.
