The Portland Trail Blazers (15-34; 24-25 ATS) put on a fight against the reigning NBA champions last Friday. The Blazers shot 46.3% from the field (10-for-28 from downtown) and 80.0% from the foul line (24-for-30). However, they allowed 16 offensive rebounds and just couldn’t make the stops against one of the most dynamic offenses in the league.

Rookie Scoot Henderson led the way for Portland at Ball Arena, notching 30 points off the bench. Anfernee Simmons had 29 points and four assists, and Malcolm Brogdon added 11 points, eight rebounds, and six dishes.

“We fought. We didn’t back down. We didn’t show them no easy respect. We came in with a winning mindset,” Henderson said. “Today, effort-wise, we won.”

Jerami Grant (20.8 PPG) sat out Friday’s clash against the Nuggets due to a back injury. He’s questionable to play Sunday, while Shaedon Sharpe (15.9 PPG, 5.0 RPG) is still recovering from an abdominal injury. The Trail Blazers are 14th in the Western Conference, eight and a half games behind the No. 10 seed. They’ve gone 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS over their last six games overall.
