It’s an interconference battle on the hardwood between a team well outside the playoff picture and one trying to hang on to their spot in the play-in tournament field in the Big Apple. The Portland Trail Blazers are on the road as they make the trip to face the Brooklyn Nets Sunday afternoon. Portland was bombed 139-103 on the road in the second game of a two-game set with the Mavericks Friday night, failing to cover the line as a seven-point underdog. Brooklyn took down Oklahoma City 124-115 at home Friday night, winning outright as a five-point underdog, in their previous contest. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Trail Blazers own a 67-29 advantage but the Nets have won the last three meetings. That includes a 111-97 home win in the most recent matchup on November 27, 2022.

Against Dallas, Portland trailed by 12 after the opening quarter and by nine at the half before giving up a 10-0 run to start the third quarter. That put the Trail Blazers down 72-53 and they never got back into the game. Portland shot 41.1% from the floor, including 13 of 40 from three-point range, and allowed the Mavericks to shoot 58.3% in the contest.
