Poll: Missouri Voters Split On Sports Betting Legalization

Missouri voters are split on sports betting legalization, according to a recent survey conducted by The Emerson College Polling/The Hill.

The survey, which received responses from 1,000 Missouri voters from June 17-19, found that 38.3% supported legalizing sports betting. Another 35.4% were against legalizing sports wagering, while the remaining portion (26.3%) were unsure of their thoughts on legal sports betting in the Show Me State.

Winning for Missouri Education, an effort to legalize sports betting in Missouri spearheaded by the state's professional sports franchises, is working toward getting the question of legal sports betting on the November ballot.

Wide Range of Poll Results

A few other polls often cited by Winning for Missouri Education suggest far greater than 38% of Missouri voters favor legalizing sports wagering. A February poll of about 900 likely voters conducted by St. Louis University and YouGov found that 60% of responders support legalizing sports betting.
