Two teams out of postseason contention will begin a four-game series in Arizona on Monday when the Diamondbacks (48-59) host the Pirates (44-64).
The Pirates avoided a three-game sweep and picked up their fourth win out of the past six games with a 8-1 road win at Baltimore on Sunday. Trailing 1-0 early, the Pirates scored eight unanswered runs with three in the fifth, one in the sixth, and four in the seventh. The Pirates had seven different players drive in a run and went 5 for 8 with runners in scoring position.

Pittsburgh is 28th in MLB scoring 3.6 runs per game, 29th with a team .221 batting average, and 17th with 108 home runs. Bryan Reynolds leads the team with 16 home runs, and is tied with Ke'Bryan Hayes with 35 RBI.
The pitching staff is 26th with a 4.56 ERA. Monday is expected to be a bullpen day with reliever Tyler Beede (1-1, 3.89 ERA) listed to take the mound first. Beede has only made one start in 24 appearances this year, with his longest outing being three innings.
