NFL Round Table Show

The Pittsburgh Penguins face the Winnipeg Jets with both teams on opposite ends of the standings to start the season. The Penguins have a 7-7-3 record and with only three wins in the last 10 games, are in the middle of the Metropolitan Division. The Jets have a 10-4-1 record and with eight wins in the last 10 games have the second-best record in the Central Division. Both teams are looking to build off recent wins and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Penguins have shown promise this year with an offense that is scoring 3.65 goals per game with six goals in their most recent game. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jake Guentzel have scored 25 goals and 30 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Jason Zucker, Rickard Rakell, and Jeff Carter have combined for 13 goals and 21 assists while defenseman Kris Letang has added a goal and eight assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.59 goals per game. Jan Rutta and Marcus Pettersson have combined for 1.8 defensive point shares and 49 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has played poorly, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will.
