Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-29-2022

Pittsburgh Penguins (4-2-1) vs. Seattle Kraken (3-4-2)

The Pittsburgh Penguins wrap up their five-game road trip Saturday, October 29, 2022, with the interconference battle against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, so here’s the best Penguins vs. Kraken betting pick.

Pittsburgh heads to Seattle as a firm moneyline fave. Last season, the Pens and Kraken split their two-game series, and each team emerged victorious on the road.

Friday night’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the Pittsburgh Penguins visited the slumping Vancouver Canucks, hoping to snap their two-game skid. The Pens opened their road trip with a 6-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. They’ve dropped their next two games at the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 and Calgary Flames 4-1.

Tristan Jarry took his first loss of the season in Edmonton, yielding six goals on 47 shots. He was projected to patrol the crease against Vancouver, so Casey De Smith should get the starting call Saturday in Seattle. De Smith is 0-1-1 with a 3.42 GAA and .907 save percentage this season. He allowed four goals on 36 shots in that 4-1 loss at Calgary.

The Penguins boast the highest-scoring offense in the NHL, notching 4.29 goals per game. They are 7-for-29 with the man advantage and rank seventh in the league in shooting percentage (11.2). On the other side of the puck, the Pens need more from their special team after allowing seven power-play goals on 25 attempts through the first seven games of the season.

Sidney Crosby leads the way for Pittsburgh with four goals and seven assists in 2022-23. Evgeni Malkin has four goals and three assists on his season tally, while Jason Zucker has accounted for five dishes thus far. Zucker sat out the Calgary game due to an undisclosed injury and is questionable to play against Seattle.
