Pittsburgh overcame a one-goal deficit against the reigning NHL champs. Bryan Rust tied the game late in the third period, while Kris Letang scored the winner in overtime. The Penguins battled bravely and posted 17 hits more than the Avs, who went 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

With Tristan Jarry on the IR, Casey DeSmith has started four straight games for Pittsburgh. DeSmith improved to 7-10-4 with a 3.23 GAA and .905 save percentage on the season following that win over Colorado. It’s unknown who’ll patrol the crease Saturday in LA, and Dustin Tokarski (1-1-0; 2.67 GAA; .915 SV%) is waiting for his chance.
