Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-10-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Super Bowl

The Pittsburgh Penguins face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Penguins have a 25-16-9 record and are in the middle of the Metropolitan Division while the Ducks have a 17-29-6 record and are in last place in the Pacific Division. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Penguins are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.24 goals per game. Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and Evgeni Malkin have scored 63 goals and 96 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Rickard Rakell, Jason Zucker, and Bryan Rust have combined for 43 goals and 52 assists while defensemen Kris Letang and Jeff Carter have added eight goals and 29 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has let them down this year, allowing 3.06 goals per game. Marcus Pettersson and Brian Dumoulin have combined for 4.5 defensive point shares and 193 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Casey DeSmith has struggled with a .905 save pe rcentage and a 3.23 goals-against average on 751 shots with -0.2 goals saved above average.
