Pittsburgh Penguins at Vancouver Canucks – 10/28/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks face off on Friday in an NHL showdown at Rogers Arena. When these two teams faced off in December it was the Penguins that secured the 4-1 victory.

The Penguins come into this game with a 4-2-1 record overall but they have lost two games in a row. In the last game against the Calgary Flames, the offense only scored one goal while the defense gave up four on the way to the defeat. Two games ago against the Edmonton Oilers, the Penguins were defeated 6-3. The Penguins' offense overall is averaging 4.29 goals per game which is the best in the NHL. The defense is giving up 3.0 goals per game which is 13th in the league. The Penguins need to be the team that gets the first goal and really puts the pressure on the Canucks.

On the other side of this matchup is Vancouver who headed into Thursday’s game against the Seattle Kraken with a 0-5-2 record overall. On Monday the Canucks faced off against the Carolina Hurricanes and they were defeated 3-2. In the 3rd period they were outscored 2-1 and that was the difference. The Canucks are averaging 2.75 goals while their defense is giving up 4.29 goals per game. In this game, the defense is going to need to be better. This isn't an elite offense so if this becomes a high scoring game, this could be a very long game for the Canucks.
