Pittsburgh Penguins at Montreal Canadiens – 11/12/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Centre Bell. When these two teams faced off earlier this season it was Montreal that secured the 3-2 victory.

The Penguins headed into Friday’s game with a 5-6-2 record overall and this has been a very disappointing loss. On Wednesday against the Washington Capitals though the Penguins defense was strong giving up only one goal and that led to the 4-1 victory. Jake Guentzel scored one goal and added an assist. Jeff Carter and Sidney Crosby also each added an assist. The Penguins are averaging 3.54 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.46 goals per game. The offense is ranked 9th but the defense has been a big issue.

Montreal comes into this game with a 7-6-1 record overall and they are coming off a big victory in the last game. In the last game against Vancouver Canucks, Montreal scored five goals and that was enough to secure the three-goal victory. Kirby Dach scored two goals and added four shots on goal. Nick Suzuki also scored one goal and one assist. Montreal is averaging 2.93 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.14 goals per game. The offense is ranked 19th in the league and needs to be better here.
