Pitcher Prop Prediction 1: Noah Syndergaard Under 15.5 Recorded Outs (-105)
It’s been another forgettable season for Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard who is only 2-6 with a bloated 6.57 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and only 49 strikeouts across 76.2 innings of work.
It’s been a 50/50 proposition on Syndergaard’s outs props this season as he is 8 for 16 in his 2023 starts.
Now enter the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup that absolutely rakes against right-handed pitching as they rank 3rd in ISO and 4th in wRC+, SLG% and wOBA.
They are coming in hot as they have won 13 of their last 14 games. A couple of key Dodgers sluggers have feasted on Syndergaard as Freddie Freeman is 10-24 (.417) with a home run, three doubles and 6 RBI and JD Martinez 5-10 (.500) with a double.
Coming off a day off on Monday, the Guardians bullpen is great shape after only needing to utilize three arms for 41 pitches on Sunday.
They only needed three relievers to throw 46 pitches on Saturday and only two relievers have thrown in back-to-back games in the last six days.
There will be no reason to keep Syndergaard in the game if there is any sign of trouble. Take the Syndergaard outs recorded under 15.5 with confidence.
Pitcher Prop Prediction 2: Bryce Elder Over 16.5 Recorded Outs (-120)
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Bryce Elder is 9-4 on the season with a 3.46 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 100 strikeouts across 138 innings of work.
He has recorded 17+ outs in 15 of 24 games for a 63% success rate including 7 of his last 11 games. This also includes a victory against the New York Mets on June 6th where he tossed six innings despite allowing four runs on four hits.
Current Mets are now only 4-19 (.211) against him with two home runs. Elder has been very efficient at home where he has cleared this total in 9 of 13 games for an outstanding 69% success rate.
The Braves are going to need an extended outing in this one as 4 different relievers have thrown 38+ pitches in the last three days.
Collin McHugh threw 48 pitches yesterday and Brad Hand threw 26 yesterday, a day after Michael Tonkin threw 47 and Kirby Yates threw 26.
Closer Raisel Iglesias hasn’t thrown since Saturday, but Atlanta will need Elder to pitch deeper into the game to get to him. He has been dominant at home and already thrown a full six innings against this team on the road. Give me the over on Elder tonight!
