Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans – 12/11/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans duke it out once again at the Smoothie King Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Phoenix Suns have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after losing to the Pelicans in a 128-117 road loss on Friday. DeAndre Ayton led the team with 25 points and 14 rebounds on 11 of 15 shooting, Chris Paul added 24 points with eight rebounds and seven assists while Devin Booker chipped in with 14 points and seven assists. As a team, the Suns shot 50 percent from the field and a sizzling 22 of 44 from the 3-point line, but it still wasn’t enough to get the job done as they trailed by three points at halftime, before allowing 40 points in the third quarter to fall behind by double-digits. The Suns committed 16 turnovers as a team and Booker had a rough night, shooting just five of 17 from the field.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’ve won 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be eager to build on their six-game win streak after blowing past the Suns in a 128-117 home win on Friday. Zion Williamson led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Jose Alverado added 20 points off the bench while CJ McCollum chipped in with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 51 percent from the field and just eight of 27 from the 3-point line, but they got plenty of support from their bench, especially in the third quarter where they poured in 40 points to take control of the contest. Jonas Valanciunas had a rough night as he shot just four of 16 from the field, but they Pelicans’ reserves outscored the Suns’ bench by 56-29 to make up for it.
