After losing consecutive games for the first time in this postseason, the Phillies find themselves on the brink of elimination. The Phillies looked to be in great shape after splitting the first two games in Houston and then pounding the Astros in game three, 7-0, behind five home runs. That win gave the Phillies a perfect 6-0 record at home in the postseason. Since that point, the Phillies bats have gone silent. They were no-hit in game four in a 5-0 loss and followed that up with a 3-2 defeat in game five, getting just six hits and striking out 12 more times. The Phillies have struck out 26 times in the last two games. Without any room for error, the Phillies head to Houston needing two-straight wins on the road.

“I think it matters that we’ve already won there this series,” the Phillies' Rhys Hoskins said. “Should give us a little more confidence.”

The Phillies will need to find their offense once again if they want to force this series to a seventh and deciding game. Since belting five home runs through the first six innings of game three's win, the Phillies have batted 7-for-70 for a .100 batting average. In addition, they have struck out 32 times in that span. The team's 2-3 hitters, Rhys Hoskins and J.T. Realmuto are both hitting just .143 in the series. The Phillies will turn to their ace, Zach Wheeler, to keep them alive in the series. In game one, he was roughed up for six hits and five runs in just five innings of work. He also struck out just three batters in the game. He should be fresh, however, pitching on a full six days rest on Saturday.
