Philadelphia Flyers vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-28-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Championship Sunday

The Philadelphia Flyers face the Winnipeg Jets with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Flyers have a 20-21-9 record and with back-to-back losses in overtime are at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. The Jets have a 31-18-1 record and are in second place in the Central Division but hope to rebound from consecutive losses. Both teams look to improve in the standings and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Flyers are having a season to forget with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.76 goals per game. Travis Konecny, Kevin Hayes, and Scott Laughton have scored 51 goals and 71 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have nine goals or more and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has let the Flyers down, allowing 3.22 goals per game including 12 goals in the last three games. Ivan Provorov and Nick Seeler have combined for 4.2 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender Carter Hart who has a .908 save percentage and a 2.97 goals-against average on 1103 shots.
