The Philadelphia Flyers are on the road as they make the trip west to face the Calgary Flames Sunday night. Philadelphia fell 2-1 in overtime on the road to Seattle Friday night in the second game of a back-to-back situation. Calgary was dropped 2-1 by Seattle at home in their previous game Wednesday night. In the last 10 meetings between the teams, the Flames own a 7-2-1 advantage but the Flyers won the most recent meeting, taking a 4-3 road victory back on February 20, 2023.

Philadelphia battled and earned a point in Seattle Friday night though they were unable to secure the second one, falling in overtime to fall to 6-1-3 in their last 10 games. The Flyers entered Saturday 19-11-5 on the season and were tied for second in the Metropolitan Division, six points behind the Rangers for the top spot in the division. Philadelphia comes into this game tied for 23rd in the league in scoring offense as they put up an average of 2.94 goals per game. The Flyers are 6th in the league in goals against as they give up 2.69 goals per contest. Philadelphia is 31st in power play success as they successfully convert on 10.9% of their opportunities with the man advantage. The Flyers are 4th in penalty killing as they have managed to navigate through 85.5% of their shorthanded situations on the year.

Against Seattle, Philadelphia was in a tight, defensive struggle but ended up falling short in overtime Friday night. The Flyers held an 11-5 edge in shots on goal in the opening period and skated off with a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard after the opening 20 minutes. Travis Konecny opened the scoring with his 17th goal of the season, shorthanded, at 16:21 off assists from Scott Laughton and Travis Sanheim. In the second period, the Flyers were outshot 9-4 with neither team scoring, leaving them up 1-0 at the second intermission. The third period saw Philadelphia with a 12-11 edge in shots on goal though they gave up the lone goal of the stanza to even things up at the end of regulation. In overtime, the Flyers were outshot 4-1 and gave up the winning goal to end up with the overtime loss. Carter Hart made 27 saves for Philadelphia, who were outshot 29-28, in the loss.
