Philadelphia Eagles (6-1) vs. Washington Commanders (3-4)

The 2023 NFL season goes on with Week 8 matchups, and we are taking a closer look at Sunday’s NFC East showdown from FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, to get you the best Eagles vs. Commanders pick and odds.

Philadelphia and Washington wrap up their two-game regular-season set. Back in Week 4, the Eagles outlasted the Commanders 34-31 in overtime but failed to cover an 8.5-point spread in front of the home audience. The Eagles are 6.5-point road favorites this time around, while the total sits at 43.5 points.

After stopping their five-game winning streak with a 20-14 defeat at the New York Jets in Week 6, the Philadelphia Eagles (6-1; 4-2-1 ATS) returned to winning ways last Sunday. They beat the Miami Dolphins 31-17 as 3-point home favorites even though Jalen Hurts struggled with an undisclosed injury in his left leg.

Hurts went 23-of-31 for 279 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception while scoring once on his own. AJ Brown caught ten passes for 137 yards and a touchdown, while Dallas Goedert had five receptions for 77 yards and a TD. The Eagles did a terrific job on the defensive side of the ball and held the highest-scoring offense in the NFL to 244 total yards.

“We made them one-dimensional,” Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni said after his team held Miami to 45 rushing yards.

The Eagles are yielding just 62.9 rushing yards per game (1st in the NFL) and 3.6 yards per carry (tied-4th). They are surrendering 20.1 points per game (tied-14th) while scoring 26.6 points in return (4th) on 246.6 passing yards (9th) and 142.7 rushing yards (4th).

Jalen Hurts has thrown for 1,821 yards, nine touchdowns, and eight interceptions so far this season. He’s also recorded 74 carries for 274 yards and six touchdowns. D’Andre Swift has 642 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on his season tally, while AJ Brown has amassed 52 receptions for 809 yards and three scores.
