Philadelphia failed to cover a 5.5-point spread last Sunday. It was a proper back-and-forth battle, while neither side scored in the final 37 seconds of the fourth quarter. The Sixers yielded a thumping 70 points in the paint, but they hit six triples more than the Lakers. Joel Embiid led the way for the 76ers with 35 points and 11 rebounds, while James Harden had 24 points and 13 assists.
“Wasn't one of our better games, especially defensively,” Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers said. “We had no pace. We were tired. As a coach, you're saying, ‘Let’s just get to the fourth quarter and see if we can win it.'”
