Two teams with NBA Title aspirations square off on Friday night with the Philadelphia 76ers visiting the Golden State Warriors. The Sixers have been one of the hotter teams in the NBA since the all-star break and now sit just a game behind Boston for second place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Warriors come in off a critical road win in Dallas to give them a cushion over the Mavericks with under ten games to go in the season. The opening tap is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST.

The Philadelphia 76ers head out west winners of nine out of ten games. The recent streak briefly put the Sixers in a tie for the second spot in the Eastern Conference with Boston. A surprising home loss to the Bulls has Philadelphia back in the third spot in the conference. On Wednesday night, without James Harden in the lineup, the Sixers avenged the loss to Chicago with a 116-91 beatdown of the Bulls in Chicago. The Sixers also played much of the game without MVP front-runner Joel Embiid, who left the game with calf tightness in the first half. James Maxey had 16 of his 21 points in the first half as Philadelphia built a big lead. De'Anthony Melton led the way with 25 points for Philly in the victory. Despite missing half the game, head coach Doc Rivers expects Embiid to be ready for Golden State.

“I think he'll be ready for the next game,” he said. “It's just precaution.”&#13 ;

With ten games left, Philly needs to pass Boston in the standings to earn the second spot in the Eastern Conference with Boston holding the tiebreaker edge by winning the season series. The Sixers are 14th in scoring offense this season. They are seventh in field goal percentage and second in 3pt field goal percentage. On the defensive end, Philly is third in scoring defense. The Sixers are 10th in opponent's field goal percentage and third in 3pt defense. The team is just 28th in total rebounding. In the turnover department, Philadelphia is 10th in turnovers and 13th in forced turnovers.

Key Injuries: Harden, Embiid and Jalen McDaniels are all listed as day-to-day.
