Philadelphia 76ers vs. Detroit Pistons Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-8-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas

Philadelphia will play the first game of a home-and-home series with Detroit on Sunday afternoon. The 76ers have won three of their last four games, while the Pistons have won three of their last six games. These teams will meet again in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

Philadelphia was sitting at 12-12 following a disappointing double-overtime loss to Houston on Dec. 5, but it has won 11 of its 14 games since then. The 76ers won eight straight games in December, a streak which was capped off with a win against New York on Christmas Day. They added a three-game winning streak against the Thunder, Pelicans and Pacers before losing to Chicago in a 126-112 final on Friday. Bulls guard Zach LaVine knocked down 11 of 13 3-pointers and scored 41 points, which was too much for Philadelphia to overcome. The 76ers were shorthanded, as star Joel Embiid missed his second straight game because of foot soreness.

Embiid is questionable to play on Sunday afternoon, which is certainly something for bettors to monitor before wagering on this game. He is Philadelphia’s leading scorer with 33.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest. James Harden and Tyrese Maxey are both scoring more than 20 points per game as well, with Harden dishing out a team-high 10.8 assists per game. Veteran forward Tobias Harris is chipping in 16.6 points and 6.5 rebounds for Philadelphia, which has gone 12-2 in its last 14 games against Detroit. The 76ers are No. 17 in the NBA offensively (112.6) and are facing a Detroit defense that is No. 29 (119.0).
