Pepperdine comes into this game reeling, having lost four straight games. The Waves have lost each of their first three games in WCC play and have fallen to a season-high three-games under .500. On Saturday night, Pepperdine dropped an 80-75 decision to Pacific on its home floor. Pepperdine shot 39% from the floor and turned the ball over 15 times in the loss. Maxwell Lewis led the way with a career-high 30 points while adding 14 rebounds. It marked Lewis' first career double-double. Carson Basham added 12 points in the loss.

Pepperdine has been led by an offense that is ranked 47th in the country in scoring thus far. The Waves are also deadly from long range, ranking 59th in the country in 3pt shooting. They can be sloppy with the basketball, however, ranked 275th in the country in turnovers. Pepperdine's defense has not been very effective this season. The team is ranked 323rd in points allowed per game. They are 185th in the country in 3pt defense thus far. Pepperdine has been solid on the glass though as they rank 78th in the country in rebounding.
