Pepperdine at Loyola Marymount – 1/28/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Pepperdine Waves will make the 90-minute trip to Los Angeles to face the Loyola Marymount Lions in WCC play from the Gersten Pavilion. This will mark the 50th time LMU and Pepperdine face off here, and the Waves hold the all-time series lead, 32-17.

Pepperdine dropped to 7-15 after losing to San Diego in Malibu. The Waves stuck around with the Toreros for a bit, but they’d end up falling by nine points. Pepperdine is scoring 77.3 points per game, while allowing 79.4 ppg, and shooting 46.2% from the field.

Pepperdine is sinking in conference play, and at 0-8, they just want to feel a win at this point. Six of the Waves nine straight losses have been by double figures, and every opposing team has scored at will. Maxwell Lewis posted a 30-point double-double against Pacific, and he leads Pepperdine in scoring (18.6), while grabbing 5.9 rpg. Jevon Porter had a solid outing versus Portland, and he leads the team in rebounding (6.8), and scores 10.9 ppg. Sophomore guard Houston Mallette has scored 15 points or more in four of the last seven games, and he’s second on the team in scoring at 13.2 ppg.
