The Central Michigan Chippewas (1-2) visit the No. 14 Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
The Nittany Lions beat the Auburn Tigers 41-12 in their last outing. Their last time out, the Chippewas deefated the Bucknell Bison 41-0. In that matchup with the Tigers, Sean Clifford had 178 yards on 14-of-19 passing (73.7%) for the Lions, with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He also carried the ball six times for 15 yards and one rushing touchdown. Nicholas Singleton carried the ball 10 times for 124 yards (12.4 yards per carry) with two touchdowns on the ground. Brenton Strange had six receptions for 80 yards (13.3 per catch) against the Tigers. Daniel Richardson threw for 198 yards for the Chippewas against the Bison, going 15-for-32 (46.9%) with two touchdowns and one interception. Lew Nichols put together a 30-carry, 166-yard game (5.5 yards per attempt) with two touchdowns, while also adding one reception for 17 yards . Jalen McGaughy caught four passes for 69 yards (17.3 yards per catch).
The Chippewas are big, 26-point underdogs in their matchup with the Nittany Lions (the game’s total is 60.5 points).
