Penn State at Michigan – 1/4/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Penn State Nittany Lions and Michigan Wolverines face off on Wednesday in a college basketball at the Crisler Center. When these two teams faced off last February it was Michigan that secured the 58-57 victory. 

Penn State comes into this game with an 11-3 record and they have gone 8-5-1 against the spread. In the last game against Iowa it was a competitive game, but Penn State was able to secure the 83-79. Penn State is averaging 76 points while their defense is giving up 66 points per game. The offense is ranked 105th while the defense is ranked 108th. Jalen Pickett is averaging 16.8 points while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 27.7 percent from behind the three point line. There are three different players that are averaging at least 12.4 points per game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Michigan who sits with an 8-5 record and they have gone 7-6 against the spread. This Michigan team has been super inconsistent this season but they are coming off an impressive win. The Wolverines scored 81 points against Maryland and won in blowout fashion. Two games ago against Central Michigan, they were defeated 63-61. The Wolverines are averaging 76.3 points while their defense is giving up 69.4 points per game. The defense hasn’t been good enough for this team. Hunter Dickinson is averaging 18.8 points while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.
