After a Thursday's slate featuring plenty of blowouts, the NBA hopes for more competitive games on Friday. A Western Conference battle between the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans might do the trick, especially if we can cash some props while watching on ESPN.
The Nuggets are 26-13 after winning their first-ever NBA championship last season and coming off a 124-111 loss to the Utah Jazz. They have a good chance of bouncing back at home, where they are 15-4 on the year. The Pelicans (23-15) have won two in a row on this current road trip, but will that streak end inside Ball Arena?

Despite being a two-time MVP and the best player in the league, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic isn't on primetime as much as we'd like him to be. The last time he was on national TV, Jokic hit an incredible buzzer-beater in a 130-127 win over the Golden State Warriors.
We expect Jokic to put on another show in a favorable matchup against the Pelicans. He has fared exceptionally well against New Orleans in recent head-to-head matchups, cashing the Over on most of his props while averaging 28.8 points, 15 rebounds, and 12.8 assists in five such meetings over the last two seasons.
Jokic has cleared this assist mark in his last five matchups against New Orleans, including an 18-assist performance last time out and a 12-dime outing the previous time the Pelica ns traveled to Denver. Jokic is averaging 9.2 assists per game this season and has recorded at least nine dimes in 12 of his 19 contests at home.
Jokic's assist prop is trading as high as 9.5 at some of our best sports betting apps, so we don't expect this line to last long. This Over is good to -145 before we'd prefer taking a plus-money price on Over 9.5 assists, especially with projections expecting him to flirt with 10 dimes.

If we like Jokic to flirt with double-digit assists, he's live to record a triple-double since that's the one stat he usually needs to get there. Jokic has only recorded a triple-double in 11 of his 38 games thus far, but that's precisely why we are getting such a reasonable price here. Th is prop was sometimes trading at minus odds last year.
Jokic has recorded a triple-double in his last four matchups against the Pelicans, including both games earlier this season. He finished with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 18 assists on Nov. 17, after a stat line of 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists on Nov. 6.
This line has already been bumped down to +175 at most of our best sports betting sites, so we encourage readers to take this +180 value at BetMGM. At +180, the implied probability is 35.71%, so keep that in mind when placing this wager. We wouldn't play anything worse than +175 on this prop.
