The Panthers have taken a commanding 2-0 series lead in the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals. Game 3 is massive for the Oilers if they are going to give themselves a chance in this series. While Florida is just 2 wins away from hoisting the cup, Edmonton is out to prove there is plenty of hockey remaining to play. Despite the 2-game deficit, the Oilers have not looked that bad. They looked great for most of Game 1 and part of Game 2. The Panthers just completely suffocated the Oilers late Game 2. All in all, the Oilers have had plenty of positives and now they return home where they have been absolutely stellar in 2023-24.
The Oilers were T-2 in the NHL in points and point percentage at home this season. In the playoffs, they are 4-1 in their last 5 at home as part of a 6-3 record with a +9 goal differential. The arena will be buzzing and the Oilers will bring their best, most urgent effort yet. Look for them to pull out Game 3 and make this one a series.
