The Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs face off on Tuesday in an NHL showdown at Scotiabank Arena. When these two teams faced off last April it was Florida that secured the 3-2 victory.

On Saturday against the Canucks the Panthers scored four goals and that was enough to secure the one-goal victory. Tyler Mers finished with seven shots on goal. The Panthers also were able to secure a victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. The Panthers are averaging 3.25 goals while their defense is giving up 3.34 goals per game. The Panthers are averaging 35.8 shots per game which is the top in the NHL. With as many shots as they are creating a game, there is really no reason the Panthers shouldn’t have a better record.
