Ottawa Senators (11-14-0) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (20-6-5) 

The NHL betting action continues Sunday, December 17, with the Ottawa Senators traveling west to take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the interconference clash at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the puck drop at 8:00 PM ET.   

The Golden Knights have not played the Senators this season, but have defeated Ottawa eight straight times. The last time Ottawa defeated the Golden Knights was in Las Vegas on March 2, 2018.

The Ottawa Senators lost to the Dallas Stars on Friday, 5-4. That was their third straight loss. Ottawa is in the middle of a five-game road trip that has seen them drop the first two contests. The Senators are 3-5-0 on the road this season. 

Three times the Senators had two-goal advantages in this game, but Dallas was able to come back and win, scoring three unanswered goals to close out the contest. Drake Batherson scored twice in the game and Tim Stützle added two assists. Anton Forsberg was able to stop only 19 of the 24 shots he faced and has now allowed at least five goals in three of his last five appearances. 

Ottawa is ninth in goals per game (3.36), but is 23rd in goals al lowed per game (3.32). The Senators special teams have been terrible, 23rd on the power-play (16.6%) and 29th in penalty killing (73.2%). Only two players on this team have scored as many as 10 goals, led by Brady Tkachuck who has 13 but just 20 total points. Tkachuk broke a six-game goal-scoring drought in the loss to Dallas.
