Ottawa Senators (6-10-1) vs. San Jose Sharks (6-11-3)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Saturday with this interconference battle when Ottawa Senators travel to take on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, California.

The Ottawa Senators head to the road after losing to New Jersey on Saturday, 5-1, going 1-2-0 during their three-game homestand. The Sharks will end a three-game homestand with their contest against Ottawa on Monday. They have dropped the first two games, including a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. These teams have not faced each other this season. Last year, San Jose won both games.

The Ottawa Senators (6-10-1, 10-7 ATS) have had no success against the New Jersey Devils in recent history, losing their 12th straight game to New Jersey on Saturday. The loss moved the club to 2-7-1 in their last 10 and they are 1-4-1 on the road as they begin a four-game road trip in San Jose on Monday.

“We just didn't create anything,” Ottawa forward Tim Stutzle said. “I feel like we had some chances here and there, but just not good enough.”

That was a very good assessment of the loss as the team was trailing by three before finally getting on the board.  Derick Brassard had the lone tally of the contest for the Senators and Anton Forsberg stopped 15 of 18 shots before his evening was over. Ottawa gave up a power-play and a shorthanded goal. The club is 18th in penalty killing (77.9%) and 25th in goals allowed per game (3.47). Cam Talbot has been solid, going 1-3-0 with a 2.42 GAA.
