The Ottawa Senators (16-16-3, 21-14 PL, 13-22 O/U) meet with the Detroit Red Wings (15-12-5-2, 18-16 PL, 16-17 O/U) in a divisional bout on Saturday evening. The Senators posted a big road victory against the Capitals on Thursday. The Red Wings were clobbered by the Sabres in their previous action. Ottawa posted a 6-3 road win against Detroit earlier this month.

The Ottawa Senators are seeking a third straight victory. Ottawa recently lost three games in a row and rebounded by recording a 3-2 shootout home victory against the Bruins on Tuesday and rallied from a 3-1 deficit in a 4-3 overtime road win against the Capitals on Thursday night. The Senators need an extended winning streak to get back within reach of a playoff spot. Ottawa has recorded a strong 6-2-2 record in their last ten games overall.

Brady Tkachuk has not found the back of the net in six consecutive games but has four assists in that span. The 23-year-old star is having a productive season, leading the squad with 37 points. Tkachuk had two points in the win against Detroit last month.  Claude Giroux ended a three-game pointless drought with two helpers in Wednesday’s victory.  The veteran winger has ten points this month and 31 on the year. Drake Batherson is having his best month of the season, collecting a total of 17 points. The 24-year-old winger has two goals in the win in Detroit earlier this month and is up to 34 points but has a poor -22 rating. Josh Norris remains out of action.

The Senators have started Cam Talbot in the net in four consecutive games. The veteran netminder has been solid and enters with a 2.68 GAA and a .914 save % accompanied by a 10-8-1 record. Backup Anton Forsberg has a 3.23 GAA and a .906 save %. The Senators are scoring an average of three goals per game, ranking them 23rd. They are conceding an average of 3.2 goals, placing them 17th in the league.
