The Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Pepsi Center. When these two teams faced off on December 4th it was Ottawa that secured the 6-5 victory in overtime.

The Senators come into this game with a 19-19-3 record overall and they have gone 8-9-2 against the spread. In the last game against the Arizona Coyotes the offense scored five goals and that was enough to lose by two goals. Ottawa is averaging 3.02 goals while their defense is giving up 3.17 goals per game. They are averaging 33.5 shots on goal per game which is 6th best in the NHL. Brady Tkachuk has scored 15 goals and added 26 assists so far this season. There are five players that have at least 37 points so far this season.

On the other side of this matchup is Colorado who sits with a 20-17-3 record and they have gone 9-8-3 at home. This is a down season for Colorado, and they might have had their worst loss of the season in the last game. The Avalanche only scored two goals against the Chicago Blackhawks, and that led to the one goal defeat. Colorado is averaging 2.87 goals while their defense is giving up 2.9 goals per game. The defense is ranked 12th in the league, but the offense needs to do more, or this could be a team that misses out on the playoffs. Mikko Rantanen has scored 27 goals and added 24 assists.
