The Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks collide at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.
The Orlando Magic will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after coming up short against the Celtics in a 126-120 loss on Saturday. Terrence Ross led the team with 29 points on 11 of 16 shooting, Paolo Banchero added 23 points, Franz Wagner scored 18 points while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 15 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Magic shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Celtics in close contest until the Celtics went on a pivotal 10-2 late in the fourth quarter to escape in the end.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are looking to build some momentum after making light work of the Pistons in a 130-106 home win on Friday. Immanuel Quickley led the team in scoring with 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists off the bench, RJ Barrett added 18 points while Jalen Brunson finished with 17 points and six assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and exploded for 42 points in the second quarter to take a 20-point lead into halftime which was never challenged.
