The Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks collide at the State Farm Arena on Monday night.
The Orlando Magic won just five of their first 25 games, but they are now gunning for a season-high seventh straight win after outlasting the Celtics in a 95-92 road win last night. Paolo Banchero led the team with 31 points on nine of 21 shooting, Admiral Schofield added 13 points off the bench while Franz Wagner chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Magic shot just 38 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 10-point lead, before they closed the final 5:34 on a 15-8 run to escape with the narrow win on free throws in a tight finish.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in a real slump as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall, but they will be looking to build some momentum after stopping a two-game skid with a 125-106 road win over the Hornets on Friday. Trae Young led the way with 31 points and nine assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 28 points with nine rebounds while AJ Griffin chipped in with 13 points on five of eight shooting off the bench. As a team, the Hawks shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 15 of 29 from the 3-point line as they caught fire early and set the tone with 75 points in the first half, before they held the Hornets to just 14 points in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout.
