College football's game of the week is in Salt Lake City, where the #8 Oregon Ducks (6-1; 6-1-0 ATS) and #13 Utah Utes (6-1; 4-2-1 ATS) will play in a pivotal clash. This game will have massive implications on the eventual Pac-12 championship game and the future college football playoff rankings. The last four regular-season meetings between Oregon and Utah have ended with the home team winning. With this game in Rice-Eccles Stadium, does that bode well for the Utes? Or, is Oregon going to be more comfortable thanks to another 3:30 p.m. EDT kickoff? Let's see what lies ahead in this massive matchup.

After a tough loss against #5 Washington two weeks ago, Oregon responded with a 14-point victory against Washington State. The 2023 Ducks have looked good all year, and any hopes of a playoff appearance will require winning out. Their offense, leading the nation with 553.0 yards per game, will be the focal point on Saturday. Oregon also averages the second-most points per game nationally, 47.0. Bo Nix garners a lot of attention, bringing 2,089 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and only one interception into this game. Troy Franklin is his favorite target, with 768 of those yards and eight scores. Meanwhile, Oregon is also racking up 226.9 rushing yards per game. Bucky Irving's 649, on 87 carries, paces the team. Nobody has held the Ducks to fewer than 33 points this season. Make no mistake, this is one of college football's best offensive units.

Oregon's defense is no joke either, especially not in the trenches. The Ducks have held five straight opponents under 100 yards rushing. For the season, they're only allowing 95.1 per game. They also get a ton of pressure, entering this game with 25 sacks. Oregon makes plays through the air too, holding foes to 217.4 passing yards per contest. They've allowed consecutive 300+-yard passers, but those games (one came against the current Heisman favorite) also coincided with Khyree Jackson's absence. The senior defensive back is questionable for this game. The Ducks are sturdy on defense, and getting Jackson back would be a massive boost.
