We’ve reached the semifinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament as a pair of teams trying to punch their ticket to the title game lock up in the city that never sleeps. The fourth-seeded Oregon Ducks do battle with the top-seeded and #2 UCLA Bruins with a berth in the championship game at stake Friday night. Oregon advanced as they held off fifth-seeded Washington State 75-70 in the quarterfinals Thursday afternoon, covering the line as a 2.5-point favorite. UCLA pulled away late to take down ninth-seeded Colorado in their quarterfinal matchup by an 80-69 margin, covering the line as a 9.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the programs, the Bruins own a 92-39 advantage and won both meetings this season. UCLA prevailed 65-56 at home on December 4, 2022 and then took a 70-63 road win in the most recent matchup February 11.

Oregon nearly let a big lead slip away before closing the game strong late to secure the win and advance to the semifinals. The Ducks improved their record to 19-13 overall on the year and finished the regular season 12-8 in conference play. Against Washington State, Oregon used a 25-6 run in the first half to take their biggest lead at 34-15 with 5:09 to play in the first half. The Ducks gave up a 10-0 run to end the first half, trimming their lead to eight at intermission. Oregon struggled in the second half and found themselves down two with 3:35 to play before regrouping. The Ducks shut the Cougars out the rest of the way, scoring the final seven points, to earn the victory. Oregon shot 45% from the floor, including six of 21 from beyond the arc, and held a 35-30 advantage on the glass in the contest. Keeshawn Barthelemy and Jermaine Couisnard each had 17 points to lead the Ducks in the win.

The Ducks are 190th in the nation in scoring offense as they average 71.1 points per game this season. Oregon is grabbing 37 boards a night while they are handing out 13.4 dimes a night. The Ducks are above average defensively, ranking 81st in scoring defense as they allow 66.8 points per game. Oregon is shooting 45.3% percent from the field as a team this season. The Ducks are draining 7.2 triples a night while shooting 32.3% from beyond the arc. Oregon is shooting a mediocre 71% from the free throw line as a team this season.
