The high-flying Oregon Ducks head into Arizona to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Pac-12 showdown on Saturday. The Ducks have won four straight games and still hold out hope to earn a spot in the College Football playoffs if they are able to win out and get some help. The Sun Devils are just 3-7 on the season and have been reduced to the role of spoiler down the stretch. The opening kick is scheduled for 4:00 PM EST.

The Oregon Ducks are still very much alive for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship on December 1st and a potential spot in the College Football Playoff with a 9-1 record and a potential rematch with Washington looming. Before then, however, the Ducks need to take care of business in the regular season as they did last week in outlasting USC at home, 36-27.

“I think it's pretty clear we have a really good team,” Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said. “But we can be even better. So I'm excited to see where we're headed next.”

Oregon didn't play its best football on Saturday but it was enough to pick up a critical victory. Quarterback Bo Nix continued to build his Heisman Trophy resume with several big plays and finished 23-of-31 for 412 yards and four touchdowns while outdueling the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, USC QB Caleb Williams. Wide receiver Tez Johnson had his second straight big game with seven catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns for the Ducks.

Oregon's defense did just enough to stop the potent USC attack. They kept the potent Williams to under 300 yards passing while also slowing down the Trojan running attack, limiting them to 73 yards rushing.

Oregon has one of the most potent offenses in the country heading into this matchup with the Sun Devils. They are ranked 2nd in the nation in total offense. The Ducks' ground attack is 25th in the country and they are third in the country through the air. Even more impressively, the Ducks are very tough to get off the field. They rank 2nd in third-down conversions. Oregon's defense is also stout enough to support its offense. The Ducks are 22nd in total defense in the country. They are seventh against the run and 63rd against the pass. The Ducks are 35th on third down defensively.

Despite an intricate offen se that puts the ball up often, Oregon has been excellent at protecting the football this season. The Ducks are ninth in the country in turnover differential this season. They have not been nearly as good in the penalty department, however. Oregon ranks just 130th in the nation in penalties this season.

Key Injuries: K A. Boyle (undisclosed) is out.
