This Friday, the (6-2) Oregon State Beavers will travel to Seattle, WA to take on the (6-2) Washington Huskies. Kickoff will be at 10:30 PM EST inside Husky Stadium. Both of these Pac-12 teams have had a great season, and I am expecting a show in this one. These two teams are tied at (3-2) in conference play, as the winner of this game will jump up in the standings.
The Oregon State Beavers are coming into this game after defeating the Colorado Buffaloes, 42-9. They dominated on both sides of the ball, as they only allowed the Buffs to record 290 total yards of offense. They will need to make it tough for the Huskies to move the ball if they want a chance on the road.
The Washington Huskies are entering this game after defeating the University of Cal, 28-21. Washington struggled to consistently score throughout that game, as they will need to be better on offense if they want to take care of bus iness at home.
Oregon State has won three straight games before coming into this one, as they will be looking to stay hot. They will need this win if they want to move up in the Pac-12 standings. On offense, the Beavers are scoring 32.6 points per game and averaging 425.9 total yards. This is the 44th most points scored per game and the 43rd most yards averaged, as they have continued to consistently move the ball down the field this season. They are also throwing for 230.1 passing yards per game, which is the 76th most in the country. Chance Nolan returned to practice Monday, but Ben Gulbranson should get the start at quarterback in this one. He threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffs in his last start. Nolan is still limited at practice. Oregon State will look to throw the ball to Tre'Shaun Harrison, as the senior receiver has recorded 477 yards and three touchdowns this season. He is also averaging 14 yards per catch. The Beavers a re running for 195.8 rushing yards per game, which is the 30th most in the country. Damien Martinez is the leading rusher for Oregon State, as he has recorded 517 yards and five touchdowns this season. Last week, he ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns against the Buffs.
On defense, the Beavers are surrendering 22.8 points per game and 350.9 total yards. This is the 47th least amount of points given up per game and the 28th least amount of yards. Moving the ball against this defense has been a struggle for their opponents, as they have been great against the run. Their front seven has continued to rally toward the ball as a team. They are currently surrendering 120.3 rushing yards per game, which is the 31st least in the country. Their secondary is also allowing 230.6 yards per game, which is the 67th least. They held Colorado to just nine points in their last game and Washington State only scored 10 points against them on October 15th. Kitan Oladapo leads t his defense, as the junior defensive back has recorded 46 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five pass deflections.
Injury Report: Chance Nolan (Neck) is questionable.
