Oregon State Beavers (7-6) vs. Oregon Ducks (7-6)

The 2022-23 college basketball season goes on Saturday, December 31, with the Pac-12 Conference showdown from Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon, where the Oregon Ducks host the Oregon State Beavers.

The tip-off is set for 8:00 PM ET, and the Ducks open as 14.5-point home favorites with a total of 131.5 points. Oregon shoots for its fourth straight victory over Oregon State, so let’s take a closer look.

The Oregon State Beavers (7-6; 5-6-1 ATS) have won three straight contests – all three at home – over Seattle 73-58, Green Bay 65-56, and Denver 57-52. They haven’t played since December 21 when the Beavers failed to cover an 8-point spread against the Pioneers. Denver missed all of its 11 attempts from beyond the arc, allowing the Beavers to erase an 8-point second-half deficit.

Oregon State made just 34.7% of its field goals against the Pioneers. The Beavers went 4-for-15 from downtown and 19-for-24 from the charity stripe while handing out nine assists and committing 13 turnovers. Sophomore forward Glenn Taylor accounted for 12 points, four assists, and three rebounds, while freshman guard Jordan Pope had ten points, four boards, and a couple of dishes.

The Beavers are No. 216 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 218 in the KenPom rankings. They score just 97.8 points per 100 possessions (271st in the country) on 51.1% shooting from inside the arc (193rd) and 31.2% from beyond the 3-point line (304th). The Beavers rely on their defense, yielding 101.4 points per 100 possessions (151st) on 45.1% shooting from inside the arc (64th) and 31.6% from downtown (126th).
