Oregon at California Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/18/23

The Oregon Ducks will head down to Berkeley to face the California Golden Bears from the Haas Pavilion on the Pac-12 Network. Since 2000, Cal leads the head-to-head series, 21-20, but Oregon has won nine of the last ten matchups.

Oregon improved to 10-8 after beating Arizona at home. The Ducks outscored the top-ten ranked Wildcats in both halves, and picked up the 19-point victory. Oregon is scoring 69.6 points per game, while allowing 66.5 ppg, and shooting 44.4% from the field.

Oregon got the statement win they desperately needed last time out versus Arizona, and it could either serve as a turning point in the season, or it could just be fool’s gold. The Ducks have been very inconsistent, so this spot against a lowly Cal team should be interesting. Will Richardson remains at the head of the Oregon offense. The fifth-year senior posted a triple-double in the win over Nevada, and he’s leading UO in scoring (14.7) and assists (5.3). N’Faly Dante played big against the towers of Arizona, posting a 22-point double-double to bring his averages to 13.5 ppg, and a team-lead 7.2 rpg. Jermaine Couisnard went off for a career-high 27 points versus the Wildcats, and he’s now second on the team at 13.8 ppg.
