The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles will travel to Moraga and take on the St. Mary’s Gaels from the Pavilion Monday night.
Oral Roberts went 19-12 (12-6) last season, and finished third in the Summit League standings. The Golden Eagles failed to follow up their deepest postseason run in school history with a bang, but they remained relevant and competitive in Summit League play. Paul Mills will enter his sixth season on the sidelines, and he’s posted a 76-79 record through five years in Tulsa.
The Golden Eagles are thrilled to bring back one of the most exciting players in the country Max Abmas. The electric shooting guard returned for his senior season after recording over 22 points per game for a second year in a row, and he alone will make Oral Roberts a threat to cover and win nightly, just ask Ohio State and Florida. Abmas will also have running mates Isaac McBride (12.3 ppg), Kareem Thompson, and Carlos Jurgens back as well alongside him. ORU also went out and landed some much needed size in the transfer portal, signing Patrick Mwamba over from UTA, and Connor Vanover over from Arkansas.
