Opening Odds Released for Chiefs vs Jaguars Divisional Round Game

After earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs will begin their postseason journey toward the Super Bowl against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round. While the Chiefs were enjoying their bye week, the Jaguars mounted one of the biggest playoff comebacks in NFL history to beat the Los Angeles Chargers, 31-30, on Super Wild Card Weekend.

Jacksonville will have to hit the road after defeating Los Angeles at home, however, so it's not surprising to see FanDuel Sportsbook's opening'NFL odds'favoring well-rested Kansas City by a considerable margin.

Jaguars vs Chiefs Opening Odds

The Chiefs are listed as 8.5-point home favorites over the Jaguars in what should be an exciting rematch of two of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.

Trevor Lawrence and Patrick Mahomes squared off for the first time earlier this season during Week 10. Jacksonville fell behind by double digit s in the first half and never recovered, losing 27-17 at Arrowhead Stadium.

A lot has changed since then for the Jaguars, who fell to 3-7 at the time. They proceeded to go 6-1 to close out the regular season, stealing the AFC South from the Tennessee Titans in the process. They're also coming off a galvanizing playoff victory and enter this game with a ton of momentum.

That could make this game tougher than expected for the Chiefs, who cruised to a 14-3 record during the regular season and went 7-1 at home. Still, it's hard to bet against Mahomes and Andy Reid, both of whom have enjoyed a ton of postseason experience and success together in recent years.

E ither way, this sets up to be a compelling game as both teams try to advance to the AFC Championship.
