Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-29-2022

The Texas A&M Aggies welcome to town the high-flying Mississippi Rebels Saturday in an SEC showdown. Ole Miss is ranked No. 15 in the country and comes in with a record of 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC. Texas A&M has struggled with a record of 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Mississippi beat Texas A&M last season 29-19 and covered as an 11 point underdog. But the Aggies have won 3 of the last 5 games between the two. The Rebels are just 2.5 point favorites in this one.

The Ole Miss Rebels undefeated season went by the wayside last Saturday as they got hammered at LSU by the score of 45-20. This game had been listed as a pick 'em, but it was anything but. The Rebels are now 7-1 on the season and 3-1 in the SEC. They had been ranked No. 7 in the country, but that ranking dropped to No. 15 with the loss. The Rebels gave up 500 total yards and 35 first downs, while they gained 404 total yards and 25 first downs. Ole Miss gave up 252 yards rushing and they just got worn down on defense as LSU broke open a close game at halftime.

Ole Miss was leading 20-17 at half, but were blanked in the second half. LSU scored three times in the fourth quarter to pull away for the easy win. “There were signs of these coming, whether it was … some protection things and the tackling on defense and limiting easy completions and turning into explosive plays,” Ole Miss coach Kiffin said on Monday reported ESPN. “So those were magnified. And that's what happens when you go play really good players in a really hard environment: Your weaknesses get magnified. So we're going to have the same thing this week if we don't fix it.”

Quarterback Jaxson Dart was 19 of r34 for 284 yards with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. Malik Heath had 8 catches for 145 yards while running back Quinshon Judkins rushed for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns.
