The Ole Miss Rebels and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Ole Miss comes into this game with a 2-0 record. The Rebels beat Troy 28-10 in the first game and in the last game they beat Central Arkansas 59-3. Under center for Ole Miss is Jaxson Dart and he completed 10 of his 15 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Quinshon Judkins had a big game finishing with 10 carries for 104 yards. Zach Evans also had 11 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Mingo had three receptions for 103 yards. Even though Ole Miss has won the first two games, the offense didn’t look all that impressive in Game 1, and they are going to need to be sharp in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is Georgia Tech and they currently sit with a 1-1 record. In the first game, they lost to Clemson 41-10 but they followed that up with 35-17 victory over Western Carolina. Even though Georgia Tech was able to win the last game, they still had some issues with their quarterback Jeff Sims. Sims completed 8 of his 17 passes for 100 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed eight times for 48 yards. The top rusher was Dontae Smith and he had 11 carries for 102 yards and three touchdowns. In this game, if the Yellow Jackets want to get the job done they are going to need Sims to be more dynamic in the passing game.
